Leagues II: Equilibrium — Why It Isn't an OSRS League

The confusion is understandable, because both games use the same numbering scheme and neither name makes the product obvious. In Old School RuneScape, Leagues II was the Trailblazer League back in 2020. The two have nothing in common beyond the word Leagues.

Telling the Two Apart

A quick tell: Equilibrium's region list includes Anachronia and Havenhythe, and its travel system uses lodestones. None of those exist in Old School RuneScape. If a league description mentions the Player Owned Farm, Daemonheim or the Hall of Memories, you are reading about RuneScape 3.

Every OSRS League So Far

OSRS leagues are seasonal, temporary game modes. You start with no stats or items, experience is heavily accelerated, tasks award league points, and points unlock relics. Nothing you do carries into the main game, and each league runs roughly eight weeks about once a year.

Demonic Pacts was the most recent OSRS league. It was themed around Yama and his contracts, kept the Echo bosses from Raging Echoes with mostly unchanged drops, and forced Karamja as the first area unlock followed by three regions of your choosing.

What the Next OSRS League Will Probably Look Like

No seventh OSRS league has been announced at the time of writing. But the format has stabilised enough that some things are safe to expect, because Jagex has confirmed them as ongoing design decisions rather than one-off experiments.

• Region restrictions will return. From Raging Echoes onward, Jagex confirmed that all future leagues use the Trailblazer region mechanic.
• Around eight weeks of runtime, historically announced at a summit and launched a month or two later.
• A fresh account with no stats or items, heavily accelerated XP, and boosted drop rates that scale with relic tier.
• Relics locked in permanently once chosen, so the choice matters more than the click.
• League Firsts tasks, recorded on the Info Board beside the Leagues Assistant in the Lumbridge Castle courtyard.
• Trophies awarded by final HiScores placement across seven tiers from bronze to dragon.

Preparing for a League Without Knowing the Rules

Because you start from scratch, no amount of main-game grinding gives you a head start. What you can prepare is knowledge, and that transfers between leagues far better than any loadout guide.

1. Learn the quest chains that gate the most content, since leagues compress questing into a first-day priority.
2. Get comfortable with the boss rotations you would otherwise avoid; accelerated XP puts you in front of them within days.
3. Read the region list on announcement day and identify which regions complete whole task clusters rather than single tasks.
4. Decide your win condition before worlds open — casual completion, a specific reward threshold, or a HiScores push. These want different region picks.
5. Treat relic choices as irreversible, because they are, and write down the opportunity cost before confirming one.
6. Protect your sleep in week one. An eight-week mode is not won on launch night.

The most common day-one mistake is copying a streamer's region plan that was built around a different relic path. Region and relic choices interact, so a plan lifted halfway through fits nobody.
