OSRS Moons of Peril Guide: Requirements, Supplies, Mechanics & Rewards

Moons of Peril hub for entry, supplies, moon rotation, and armour rewards.
Overview: The Three Moons
Perilous Moons is 3 bosses fought in sequence inside one instance, all unlocked by the same quest. Each has a distinct mechanic and each drops a different armour set, so the loop is only worth running once you can clear all three.
They sit at difficulty 3 to 3 — mid-game content where the supply cost of a full loop matters more than any single fight.
| Boss | Difficulty | Solo or team | Requirement | Notable reward |

Learn one moon properly before running the full loop. Dying on the third fight after clearing two costs the whole trip, so the moon you are least comfortable with is the one setting your success rate.
What Each Moon Tests
The three moons do not test the same thing, which is why gear that carries you through one can leave you stuck on another. Each fight's defining demand:
| Fight | Difficulty | What it tests |
|---|---|---|
| Blood Moon | 3 / 5 | Jaguar phase |
| Blue Moon | 3 / 5 | Tornado phase |
| Eclipse Moon | 3 / 5 | Clone phase |

Blood Moon — Jaguar phase
Blood Moon is rated 3 out of 5 and normally fought solo. Access needs Perilous Moons quest, and the drop worth going for is Blood moon armour set, dual macuahuitl.
- Jaguar phase is the headline
- Melee comfort helps
- Do not skip supply checks
- Part of Moons armour grind
Blue Moon — Tornado phase
Blue Moon is rated 3 out of 5 and normally fought solo. Access needs Perilous Moons quest, and the drop worth going for is Blue moon armour set, blue moon spear.
- Tornadoes punish standing still
- Bring the right style for Blue
- Resupply between moons
Eclipse Moon — Clone phase
Eclipse Moon is rated 3 out of 5 and normally fought solo. Access needs Perilous Moons quest, and the drop worth going for is Eclipse moon armour set, eclipse atlatl.
- Clones are the skill check
- Clear them without dumping all food
- Finish the three-moon loop for rewards
- Verify drop tables live
Supplies and Inventory
A full loop is 3 fights on one trip, and there is no bank between them. That is the only thing that makes the supply question interesting — each fight on its own is comfortable, but you have to budget food and prayer restores across all 3 rather than for the hardest one.
| Slot | What it is for |
|---|---|
| Food | Enough for all 3 fights plus the mistakes you make learning them, not just the fight in front of you |
| Prayer restores | Every moon has an attack you want to pray against, and prayer is the resource that runs out first |
| Combat style | Each moon rewards a different style — check the per-moon sections above before committing your inventory |
| Teleport out | So a failed third fight costs you one fight rather than the walk back as well |

We have not put exact quantities in that table. The right amount of food depends on your combat stats and on how many attempts you are still spending on the mechanics, so a fixed number would be wrong for most readers. Bring more than you think you need on your first few loops and note what you actually used.
FAQ
What unlocks the Moons of Peril?
Perilous Moons quest.
Can I fight just one moon?
You can, but the armour sets each come from a specific moon, so a full loop is how most people run it.

Start at Blood Moon. The ceiling here is Eclipse Moon.
If you want one thing to go and do after reading this, it is Perilous Moons quest — 3 of the entries here need it, so it unlocks more of this page than any other single requirement.
