Top 5 Ways to Make Money in OSRS – Best GP Methods

OSRS Money Making

The top 5 ways to make money in OSRS in 2025: Fortis Colosseum, Theatre of Blood, Tombs of Amascut, Nex, Vardorvis, plus PVP. Best GP methods and requirements.

Why GP matters in OSRS

Old School RuneScape is known for its economy. Unless you play Ironman, you need gold (GP) for almost everything: training herblore, buying gear, killing bosses, or building your POH. More gold means faster progress, better gear, and higher experience rates. In this guide we look at the top 5 ways to make money in OSRS—best GP methods that work in 2025.

A quick note: the methods below are among the best in the game and generally require strong accounts and strong gear. If you'd rather skip the grind and get GP without farming for hours, we also offer a secure gold shop—see the end of this guide.

Fortis Colosseum

1. Fortis Colosseum

With Varlamore, the Fortis Colosseum became one of the best money makers in the game—and for many, it took the number one spot from raids. You complete 12 waves of enemies, with a tough boss at the end. From wave 5 onwards you can roll on the rare drop table for big drops. Beating the final boss Sol-Heredit guarantees a Dizana's quiver, which you can exchange for 4,000 sunfire splinters (about 2M GP). So every full run guarantees ~2M plus whatever you get from the challenge. Done efficiently, that can average around 14.3M GP per hour.

Requirements and key gear are summarised below.

Theatre of Blood

2. Theatre of Blood (TOB)

Theatre of Blood is one of the hardest and most profitable raids. The most profitable way to run it is in trios (you need two other players). Most of the profit comes from mega-rare and purple rolls: each completion has a 5.26% chance of a scythe and a 10.99% chance of a purple; purples make up most of raid profits.

Max combat and BIS gear per role are expected. See the tables below for a summary.

Tombs of Amascut

3. Tombs of Amascut (TOA) – Master 500

Tombs of Amascut lets you customise difficulty and has a unique set of bosses and rewards. For top GP we're talking master tier at 500 raid level, done solo. At 500, most mistakes mean instant death, but the rewards are huge. If you can run it efficiently (around 1.5 raids per hour), you can see about 13.4M GP per hour.

High-end account and tight setup (often no room for food). Learn 150 and 300 first before pushing 500.

Nex

4. Killing Nex (duo)

Nex sits deep in the God Wars Dungeon. To reach her, you and a partner need the frozen key (one kill on each GWD boss for a key piece, then combine). The best GP per hour is in duo. At 6 kills per hour, unique chance in a 2-man team is 1/42—about 13.1M GP per hour. Hard combat achievements recommended.

5. Killing Vardorvis (solo)

Vardorvis is a Desert Treasure II boss and one of the best solo money makers. He can drop Soulreaper axe pieces, Ultor ring, and Virtus robes. Unique chance 1/136. Slayer task gives a damage boost. At about 30 kills per hour, expect ~10.4M GP per hour.

Bonus: PVP

PVP has no fixed stats or GP rate—you can lose money if things go wrong. But if you know what you're doing, it can be one of the most profitable activities in the game. Even an average PKer with moderate risk can make around 5–10M per hour; skilled players can push that much higher. It's high risk, high reward.

Need GP without the grind?

These methods are among the best in the game but they require strong accounts, expensive gear, and a lot of practice. If you'd rather spend your time on other content, our gold shop offers a safe way to get GP so you can focus on what you enjoy. At Bils Services we also offer PVM and raid services—so you can get kills, capes, or loot without grinding yourself.
